Last weekend I went to the beautiful Onrus for the Kalfiefees. I was quite impressed with this year’s festival setup – complete with a Computicket stall and its own art route! The festival’s line-up looked fantastic, with plenty of things to see and do.
On Saturday I also went to the Hermanus Wine Festival. This is a fantastic event if you are a good-food-and-wine person. With plenty of yummy food and wine/beer stalls plus live music, you can stay for the whole day (and come back for more the next day!).
We had a great time tasting some samoosas and local beer. And I had the opportunity to capture some great shots:
This guy had an interesting stall – He engraved words/art on glass.
“Piano Ben” and his band entertained the crowd on Saturday:
Plenty of wine tastings:
Everyone enjoyed the good food:
If all the people, food and wine become too much…Head down to the beautiful Hermanus Waterfront for some whale spotting!!
On Saturday evening we went to Hermanus’ famous Gecko Bar. We had a festival dinner – in the form of two yummy pizzas. Then we headed down to the Kalfiefees Kuiertent in Onrus. With some live music and the bar being super cheap, we had a good time sitting underneath a heater!
I will definitely say that both the festival was a success and it is surely growing every year! This is definitely one to mark off on your arts calender for next year!
Have a great week!
if you want me to post your photos/artwork/poem…send it to me! If I like it, I will gladly post it – if I like it. Yay!
