My favourite Fair Trade Clothing
I recently got an interest in buying from socially responsible clothing brands. What is that, you ask? Well, basically these are brands that give a shit about the people who make these clothes, the major issues in clothing factories, and the environment.
Fashion is the world’s second most polluting industry after oil. – The True Cost
I, like most other people, used to shop without blinking an eye, without even thinking about what I am buying, or where it comes from. I am no neo hippie, but I do believe in doing the right thing as often as possible.
The global fashion industry is worth $2.5 trillion.– The True Cost
Yes, the fashion giants are billionaires, while we actually have no idea whether the person who made your shirt actually got a cent from the item’s profits. In fact, most of the factories where clothes are made, are in the poorest parts of the world, and the factory workers work in very dangerous environments.
The world now consumes about 80 billion new pieces of clothing every year. This is 400% more than the amount we consumed just two decades ago.- The True Cost
If you think that you will struggle to find pieces you really like from these fair trade brands, you are very wrong. I shopped around, and found these pieces, which I absolutely love, in less than an hour. You see, now you can look great, and feel good about supporting the right brands!
