Go Barefoot Interview
It’s almost time for the Capital Craft Beer Festival on 20 June 2017! Over the last few years Capital Craft Beer Festival has established itself as an indispensable part of the Pretoria social calendar not to be missed as 8000 beer and music lovers congregate in the beautiful Pretoria National Botanical Gardens. This year will be no exception – 3 music stages, over 35 brewers, over 200 beers on tap and over 20 food stalls!
I had a quick chat with Go Barefoot who will perform at the event. This is what they had to say:
Hi! Thanks for the chat! Who forms part of Go Barefoot?
Go Barefoot is a five-piece outfit consisting of Michael Dawson, Clive Vickers, Jonathan Smith, Noah Bamberger and Saul Nossel.
You say you make music that makes people want to dance – But what exactly does that sound like coming from Go Barefoot?
We explore beats and hooks that inspire us and make us want to groove when we perform our music, when we write a song we jam together and find an energy and vibe that makes us wanna fly!
Awesome! So, you recently released a music video for the song Hail, tell me more about it? What is it about and who worked with you on it?
The music video came to life as a collaboration. We worked with our old pal Tom Revington who shot the video for ‘I Won’t Back Down’, and with Meagan Connolly, a creative who choreographed dance to the song. When it came to the formation of the video, we just watched as these beautiful people interpreted our music. We got to be the audience this time.
Can we expect more projects from you this year, perhaps an EP or full album?
The next couple of months see us go into the next chapter of our journey into producing a full length album to release next summer.
So, It’s almost time for the Capital Craft Beer Festival, and you will be there. What time can we catch you at the festival?
Yeah, we can’t wait. Some of us checked it out last year and performed with other bands. It is such a cool space for music and tasting fine brews.
We are playing the acoustic stage at 12:15!
Any other bands on the line up that you recommend we see?
Yes totally! Josh Kempen, Urban Village, Shortstraw Ben Day and the Concrete Lions and DJ Half and Half!
Cool! So, what’s your favourite craft beer that will also be at the festival?
Mitchells and Jack Black are goodies!
Indeed 🙂 Where can we listen to your music before the event?
You can find our music on Soundcloud and Bandcamp! https://soundcloud.com/go-bare
Thanks guys! Catch you at Capital Craft!
Big love, GB.
