Fine Wining at HQ
Ever been to HQ in Cape Town? If not, you are seriously missing out. The restaurant in Shortmarket Street has some of the best dishes on the menu and top-class wines, but it is the atmosphere that makes this venue one of the best in the Mother City.
Exciting Food and Wine Pairing Nights
If you are looking for a special occasion to see what HQ has to offer, look no further. The restaurant is currently hosting their incredible Fine Wining events. HQ’s Fine Wining dinners offer guests a chance to enjoy wines from popular Western Cape farms, which have been artfully paired with HQ’s iconic salad, steak and chips accompanied by an aperitif and dessert. It is a special experience; an opportunity to gather with friends over good food and great wine in a cosy atmosphere.
I was lucky enough to attend the Ken Forrester pairing evening and, besides the great evening, I found a new favourite wine – The Ken Forrester Wines are just exquisite and pair so well with HQ’s food!
From the moment you arrive at HQ – welcomed by the first glass of wine and aperitifs – to the delicious dessert (it doesn’t get better than Caramelised apple mille-feuille with vanilla pod crème and pecan nuts), everything was perfect. The service is also top-notch, with waitrons moving around the table constantly to ensure you are 100% taken care of.
And, of course, HQ is famous for their steaks… So, this is a great opportunity to try it for yourself!
