Albert Frost chats about the Blues Cruise 2019
Batten down the hatches, because in March 2019, for the first time, South African Blues legends will be taking to the sea for an unforgettable cruise experience on board the MSC Musica Cruise Ship.
Blues artists such as international legend, Doc Maclean, Albert Frost, Black Cat Bones, Shadowclub, Gerald Clark, Crimson House, Wolgang Marrow, Gunshot Blue and Coelacanth will be performing on the Mojo Rising Blues Cruise for 4 days, setting sail on a carefree voyage exploring the most beautiful places on earth.
Setting sail from Durban, the cruise ship will embark on an excursion to the Portugese Islands and all the luxury resort leisure facilities on board are included free of charge!
This cruise is selling out fast, so you better book now!
I caught up with Albert Frost, one of the artists on the lineup, to talk about the cruise:
First of all, I have to ask how the CanAfrica tour with Doc MacLean is going?
It’s been a once-in-a-lifetime experience so far, just incredible. People are very friendly and responding well, so it feels like a dream!
I can only imagine! So, what has been your most favourite venue and show so far?
We played a show in a boxing rink in Halifax which is pretty cool.
Oh wow! And what else have you been busy with this year? Any highlights or interesting happenings?
Well, it’s been a very very busy year for me. Toured through Africa in June, Europe in August and now in Canada till end of November. I’ll be all over the coast in December so look out!
Tell me about the Blues Cruise next year. When is it and what is it all about?
A bunch of really good musicians on a cruise liner for three days off the east coast between 22 and 25 March 2019, what could possibly go wrong?
Hehe! I can only imagine all the memories that will be made on this cruise! Have you ever been on such a cruise? And what can people expect from this experience and what are you most looking forward to?
I’ve personally never been on a cruise so I really am looking forward, always excited for new experiences. Expect lots and lots of music, jamming, partying, sleeping, swimming, partying, jamming, sleeping, swimming… I’m sure you get the idea.
And any other artists on the ship you recommend we see?
I truly love all the artists on this bill, really hard to single them out when everyone is as good as this!
What song should people listen to on repeat before the Blues Cruise?
Go check out Blues Broers track I wrote called Mountains.
Definitely will! And where can we see you perform live next to warm up for the cruise?
I will be updating schedules as I go but keep an eye out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
So, what’s next for you? Any big plans for 2019?
Oh yes! Planning to release an album towards the middle of next year as well as return tours throughout Europe and Canada. I’m always on the road in South Africa of course so be on the lookout.
