Spider-Man Far From Home In D-BOX
You get frenzied Marvel fans who dress up for the première of the latest releases, know almost every word to the script of every movie and have special Marvel mugs at work, and then you get me. I am not one of those people. In fact, I haven’t even seen half of the 20+ movies released by Marvel Studios. However, when I recently had the chance to go see Spiderman Far From Home in Ster-Kinekor’s D-BOX, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve seen the trailer and was quite impressed with the sneak peek, so I’ve decided to give it a go.
What’s good about Spider-Man Far From Home?
A whole lot. Spider-Man Far From Home is a visual sensation! The effects are incredibly well done and every other scene has you sitting on the edge of your vibrating D-BOX seat. The filmmakers did a convincing job of portraying Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, as an ordinary high school student, and I’m sure many teenagers and even 20-somethings will identify, but the film also does great in making this offering an entertaining one for older fans. Especially with characters such as May Parker and Happy Hogan.
Spider-Man Far From Home has just enough humour, action, entertainment and heartfelt moments in it to be a great addition to the Marvel series. In story continuity, Far From Home follows Avengers: Endgame directly. Endgame was released just months ago to record-breaking box office success. However, in contrast to that film’s heaviness, Far from Home leans more towards a fun-loving adventure movie, sending teenage Peter, played by Tom Holland, on a school trip around Europe. On this trip, Peter’s only real mission is to tell his big crush MJ, played by Zendaya, that he really likes her. However, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) has other plans for him with new hero Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal).
An adrenaline blast of pure action! 8/10.
What exactly is D-BOX?
D-BOX is a unique movie experience for old and young. It offers you a seat that vibrates and moves as it mimics the live action happening in the movie. Ster-Kinekor calls it “a hyper-realistic immersive entertainment experience… that will boost and elevate you, literally, and let you live the action.”
With D-BOX, you are free to control the intensity of your own chair. So, if you feel like you need a bit more action, simply turn it up! The idea is that you feel like the superhero in the movie.
If you’ve watched a couple of movies in 3D and are looking for something more, try D-BOX! It’s truly a one-of-a-kind movie watching experience. It is advised to watch an action-filled movie in CD-Box.
