Frosé Fridays

Treat Yourself to a Local Stay this Season

Cape Milner

Unwind at The Cape Milner

I am beyond lucky to stay in the heart of Cape Town. To be more precise, at the foot of Table Mountain. Recently I had the absolute pleasure to visit the beautiful Cape Milner Hotel, just around the corner from my house. I have never been, so I was excited to join them for one of their fantastic summer promotions, Frosé Friday.

The hotel is situated in Tamboerskloof, and the perfect place to unwind after work or over a weekend this season. With absolutely beautiful views of Table Mountain, and a lovely swimming pool, you are sure to have a pretty spectacular time this summer!

To make it even more inviting, they are currently running a great special of R995 per person sharing per night, including a delicious breakfast, until the 31st of January 2018.

If you just want to relax at the pool with friends, have a look at their other promotions currently running:

Cape Milner teams up with Oranjezicht City Farm

The Cape Milner has also partnered with Oranjezicht City Farm to launch their new Loving Local campaign, an initiative that promotes an organic nose-to-tail and root-to-stalk menu comprising of locally-sourced produce. The campaign supports responsible consumerism, and the restaurant team at the Cape Milner will bring creativity and flavour to the new three-course offering.

Nose-to-tail and root-to-stalk eating is a movement that eschews the mass production and waste of food, encouraging people to make use of the entire animal and plant when cooking, promoting a raised level of consciousness when it comes to what we eat as well as how we prep and eat it.

The new menu has been fashioned from organic produce sourced in the heart of the City Bowl, along with free-range meat supplied within a 100km radius of Cape Town. For starters, guests can enjoy the trio of local beets, served with carpaccio, garden herbs, goats cheese and drizzled with a shallot vinaigrette. For mains, delight in grass fed lamb cuts of braised shoulder, crispy tongue, confit belly and pan-fried loin served with local pak choy, wild mushrooms, hay smoked potato, grapefruit segments, egg yolk puree and a rosemary jus. Vegetarians can indulge in a mouth-watering herb risotto. To finish, the Honey and Lemon dessert is a must.

The menu offering ranges in price, from R345 for three courses to R435 for the three courses including a wine pairing with local Cape wines. The promotion is valid from 1 November and runs until the end of March 2018, with the menu changing slightly as different seasonal vegetables and herbs become available.
